Bishop Otteh, a zealous Evangelizer - Cardinal Arinze
Francis Cardinal Arinze has described late Bishop Otteh as a zealous evangelizer who diligently and with all carefulness lived the life of a high priest of God, a shepherd and a great teacher of the faith.
The Cardinal made this observation in his homily at the funeral Mass of the late Bishop at St Paul\'s Cathedral, Issele-Uku recently.
Continuing, Cardinal Arinze noted that as Cathedral administrator and rector of a Seminary for many years, Bishop Otteh worked as a devoted pastor, a model catechizer and a careful coordinator of various parish activities and an exemplary leader. These qualities, he noted were exhibited by Bishop Otteh in his course to foster the teachings of the Church in every setting starting from the in-house chores to larger groups in the Church. He further pointed out that towards the end of his life, Bishop Otteh bore the pains and aches of aging with a Christian sense of offering while submitting to God\'s will. Concluding he stressed that our life on earth is a pilgrimage and as pilgrims on the move towards our heavenly home we should see Jesus Christ as our firm hope of resurrection.
